DNS Reverse Lookup

Find the PTR hostname associated with an IPv4 or IPv6 address. Enter one address per line for batch lookup.

Maximum 25 addresses per request. Blank lines and duplicates are ignored.

How reverse DNS works

A reverse lookup converts an IP address into a hostname by querying its PTR record. IPv4 records use the in-addr.arpa namespace, while IPv6 records use ip6.arpa.

A missing PTR record does not mean the IP is unreachable. It only means the address owner has not published a reverse-DNS hostname.
